Local Companies Raffle Giant Easter Eggs

15-03-24-beechwood-fine-foods-giant-easter-eggTring – Toby and Sarah Murray, owners of Beechwood Fine Foods located in Tring, Hertfordshire, will once again be assisting Tring Lions’ fundraising efforts by raffling a giant Easter Egg. The competition will close at 1pm on Easter Saturday 4 April 2015. Beechwood Fine Foods are one of eight retailers around Tring raffling the prize eggs.

To enter the competition to win the giant egg, estimated to be approximately 1 Kilo in weight, a person must write their name and contact details on a 100 square grid, donating £1 per entry per square. The egg is manufactured by John Bull Confectioners of Yorkshire, manufacturers of chocolate, biscuits, nougat and traditional seaside rock.

This will be the second year that Beechwood have supported the Tring Lions, who contacted them first in 2014 as a new and alternative way of raising funds. In 2014, Toby and Sarah Murray raised £83 by raffling the egg, and the combined total across all six retailers was £400, which the Lions rounded-up to £500, and gave to the Riding for Disabled Association (RDA).

Tring Lions have been supporting individuals and organisations in Tring and the surrounding villages since 1973, via donation and volunteer work at fetes, quiz nights, carol concerts, wine tasting and the charity bookshop in Hemel Hempstead.

“Last year we had great fun raffling this huge egg and we’re absolutely delighted to help the Tring Lions raise funds for their cause again this year”, said Toby. Beechwood Fine Foods will be open on Good Friday and on Easter Saturday, but closed Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Beechwood will be exhibiting at the Love Food Easter Festival in Great Missenden from 3 – 6 April.
